IS WORKING FROM HOME THE RIGHT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU ?

There are many people who have gone from working a conventional 9 to 5 or part-time job to Working from Home, and there are many more who dream about working from home. They want to be their own boss, make their own hours, and have more time for their family, but they don't know what to do, or how to get started.

If you are someone who has the desire to work from home, the most important question you must ask yourself is: "Do I really have what it takes to work from home and manage my own Home Businesses ?" This is a big question and you need to be bluntly honest with yourself, and really think about this before you answer. A home business is just that: a business. It's not a hobby, or something you do once in awhile in your spare time.

Here are just a few examples of "what it takes" to work from home and manage your business:

* You should have the right equipment and a room in your home for your home office. Some place that is quiet with no distractions is a must for focus and concentration on what you will be doing.

* You must be a "self starter" - someone who can easily work without any kind of supervision. Previous business management experience is a big plus for this kind of work.

* You must be able to make decisions about your business and stick to those decisions. Choose one project that you want to start out with and work on it through completion. If you are new to working from home, don't make the mistake of trying to work on several projects at once. This will overwhelm you, and dilute your efforts.

* You will need to have a business plan in writing stating the goals that you would like to achieve for the month, for the year, for the next 5 years or longer. Be specific about what these goal are, and when you expect to accomplish them.

* Decide upon which type of home business you would like to pursue. As an example, you may want to have an online business which may include: selling your own product, affiliate marketing, selling on ebay, article marketing, blogging, advertising, freelance writing, or consulting, just to name a few. Or, if you already own an offline business, you may be in the position to work from home promoting your product or service by building a website, advertising online, writing a press release, visiting business forums, or starting a blog about your business.

* You will need to make a schedule for yourself - stating how many hours of work you will put into your home business each day, and the times that you will be working. For example, if you have an outside job now, and you can devote 3 hours at night, let's say from 8 pm to 11 pm to your home business - write that down and continue with that schedule. If you're a stay at Work at Home Mom, and you can work from home for 6 hours while your kids are at school, maybe from 8 am until 2 pm, write that down and stay with it.

* Start out with a realistic concept of what it would be like to work from home. Many people think that having a home business means that they run out and quit their job, sit at home in front of a computer in their PJs, work in their spare time for a few hours a week, and make a lot of money with very little effort. Nothing could be further from the truth. You can wear PJs, but working from home takes effort - a lot of it. It takes long hours - sometimes more hours than a full time job, and it takes patience. That's why successful Home Based Businesses owners say: " If you want to start working from home, don't quit your day job."

* If you know that you have these traits: motivation, dedication, discipline, perseverance, and a lot of patience, then you would be a good candidate to work from home and manage your home business successfully.
